Besides celebrating the Chinese New Year, most people were probably not aware of the Muslim New Year which was on Tuesday. Muharam is the first month of the Muslim calendar, thuse the "Awal Muharam" name. Anyway... My point is, i had a solid reason to celebrate by wacking all food available. You see, i'm consoling my guilt.

Oh. Have you heard?

I'm still sane after 6 days without my cell phone. I'm mosre dissapointed on the amount of money that i have invested in that little gadget instead of what was actually installed in it. I miss it badly. : (

Early saturday morning, ( i mean wayyyyyy early) more like, 1 am..? My family and i went to KLIA to fetch our aunt and uncle from Mecca. They went to perform their Haj for about 40+ days. We were there till 3 am. A cousin of mine followed my family for a super early breakfast in Syed Bistro in SS3. I never thought they would be people lepaking around at the mamak at 4 am. They were pretty much awake and smoking. Literally. What tickles me is, they could make the effort to stay up at 4am, but not do their morning prayers at 6. Or come late to work. Hah. Funny.

That evening, we drove to Melaka. Our second home. I don't really fancy it that much. Except when its during the durian season or windy season. Only then i'd find it to be a bliss! All my sister and i did was watch tv. Just guess what show we watched over and over again?

The Nanny.

On Sunday evening, my dad decided that we should take a drive down south to visit my grand dad. Last 2 weeks he got operated coz his appendix had burst. His colon got infected as well. Ouch. I know. We reached Singapore at midnight. Mom spent hours gossiping with my aunt while everybody were in la-la land. The next morning i got to see my grand dad. He was so skinny! His cheekbones were literally popping out! The poor man looks like a wreck. But he sure didn't act like one. He was recovering quite quickly. Only about 12 days out of surgery, and he's starting to make contact his old friend, Benson & Hedges.

While we were there in my aunt's humble HDB flat in Bedok South, about half a dozen of relatives came to vist the granddad. And they each brought along food (in bulks). What else should we have done...other then stuffing our faces?

We stayed till Monday night. W took a slow drive back to Melaka before we got back to Subang on Wednesday.

The whole of Subang Jaya seems so empty. Its an annual phenomenon. The best part of Chinese New Year!
