2059 Hours
Hello, hello.
It's the second day in July. My dad's off to Brisbane tomorrow night. He'll be back on Friday morning. He gets spend time in Aussie during winter, while we're all fried back here in KL. He owes us Macadamia Chocs. Hahaha!
I've always thought that everytime my older cousins get teased for not getting married by our elders (great uncles and great aunties), is funny. But just for the past month, alone, i've been teased for being old enough to get married. Three times! I know! Freaky, and can be quite annoying. Still funny, but...argh. You see, some orthrodox malay families think you're eligible to get married as soon as you hit puberty, OK.
Like, today there was a mini-Kenduri back at my dad's hometown. Sempena the 100th day of my uncle's passing, they had prayers for him. So as expected, all the old men (great uncles and uncles, and dad) from the family would gather round and joke about things. And as we were gonna go home, we'd usually shake everyone's hands...So my TokLang asked how old i was, and i said 20. Well, technically im 19 till october, but well, we go by the year anyway, so i went with 20.
Was it a wise thing to say? Apparently not. Hahaha. He told my dad, "Hah! Dah duapuluh, Mohd! Carikan lah!" I was just flushed with embarrasment. If it had been just us, then it wouldn't have been that bad. But imagine this. They were all under the tent outside, drinking tea. Oh, my.
I kinda like the idea of having a Kampung to go to once in a while. But, this is tooo much. I guess it comes in a package. *TV Game show Announcer's Voice* "Kampung house to go back to includes curious great uncles who tend to talk extra loud when they tease you".
Hahaha. Oh well. I enjoyed spending my time there, today. Just today. I guess because there weren't that many people. Which means a more managable crowd. Which means less annoying people.
Ah, One of Life's Perks.
