Last weekend, we dropped by at KLIA just for fun. We (my family and i) love detours. As we reached the airport, we were really shocked at the rate of busy-ness of the airport. In fact, i don't think it HAS a rate to start with. Like a weak heart, the rate is low enough for a person to just die.
An ideal airport should be buzzing with activities...like the JFK or Heathrow...or something closer to home, Changi Airport. International flights as well as the domestic flights should be seen landing and taking off. There should be transactions; business is supposed to be vibrant, the crowd should be alive and colourful and they should ideally, come in thousands. Out of all the Major airport in the South East Asia, i feel like our self proclaimed "world's best airport" is one of the most depressing one. International business are going to Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and possibly the Philippines for investments. We're too confident of our country's assets, but the truth is, we have so much things to improve on.
A "World's class"quality is not just judged by the physical outlook of the building, but the service and the activity in the airport...or any other building. Even if the KLIA WAS judged by it's physical outlook, then we must have overlooked many things.
I took some rather depressing (and some cute ones) pictures of the airport... i'll post the rest sometime soon. Enjoy!
Left Behind.
While their owners (eaters?) have left for a different destination, these poor McDonald's paper bag and cup are left behind.
Making a Statement.
Vandalism even in our "World's class Airport"? But i guess it gives the Airport some character... at least there are signs of life around the airport.
Visionary.
Funny enough, i feel like this picture brings so many meaning. For one, it could symbolize how MAS is running the airline: Konon nak World's Class, tapi backward thinking. Secondly, it could be an inspiring photo, don't you think?
Staying Grounded.
This boy was upset with his dad. He refused to follow his dad, and he stood his ground. And it worked! His dad came and he 'pujuked' him.
In Awe.
Notice the size of the boy compared to the screen. Just like in real life, the F1 event is so much bigger than a car race, but the boy is most likely oblivious about it.
Original Prankster.
He likes to joke around. Even if it means making a fool out of himself. He's my dad.
