Mother Nature goes Bonkers?
Freaky, huh?
None of us were prepared for any natural disaster like a Tsunami to hit Our shores.
The sad thing was that most of us, Malaysians, aren't properly educated about Tsunamis... There were a lot of people, standing and gathering by the shore of the sea, looking at the waves coming towards them at about 800 miles an hour, with a 6 metres tall...Little that they know it woiuls sweep them off the ground with a blink of and eye. Mothers froze in horror while watching their offsprings dissapear underwater. The media is playing the role of the 'watchdog' for the society at times like this.
Approx. 12 hours before the tragedy happened...
Orchard Road, Singapore.
I went CD hunting, and i was accompanied by my cousins. I took the train earlier from my granddad's place met my cousin Rashid...then met up with Marwan at Bedok Station.Swtiched trains at City Hall and proceeded to Orchard. We went to all the CD stores, they had great bargains but they didn't have what i wanted. Some were out of stock, and some were just not in their systems. Just before lunch, while paying for one album i found, Salwa, my cousin elder than I ,reached with her younger sister...We then decided to gofor lunch...Had a little debate on where we wanted to have lunch...I said BK, some wanted KFC...right... 3.30, We were seated at BK. Yes! i got where i wanted to eat. We took our own sweet time consuming our meals, then we went to some other place (i don't remember the name, and i dont think i ever will). They had cool and funky tees, a Tattoo Parlour, boutiques, surf shops...yada3. Got Dee's present...ya happy, now?
We then met up with the younger generation of cousins. Ranging from 15-17 yrs of age, i think. We were moving around town together...then they wanted to split up, when we decided to just sit down and have a cup of something while we yak all night long. We had some Frappes at McCafe...I seriously think McDonalds should just stick to fast food chains instead of starting up a place to overcharge their coffees and muffins. However, they did a nice job setting the place up, i shall say. Their service suck though. We had some intelligent talk for a bout 5 minutes, then we crapped all the way for the 2 hours we were there. Was fun, though.
TheXmas light-up along the Orchard Road this year suck, too. I guess they didnt have enough sponsors from various companies. Everybodys on a tight budget. Aza once said they teenage culture here suck. I totally agree. The kids should be caught by the fashion police...Young Kids, dressing up like 'grown ups' without knowing what non-verbal signals they are giving out to the boys especially...Which is bloody well dangerous. OKAY. Lets stop being a mom.Anyway, the light up sucks, and the place was fcukin crowded...i was so annoyed. But knowing that i have new CDs to look forward to, i overcam my fear to cross the ocean of freaks with bad odours.
Took the train back when my dad called asking me why the hell i was late. HAH. My bad.
walked back from the Tarin station with both my cousins...Rashid and Marwan right up to my aunt's block. What nice young lads they are...*cough**choke**sneeze*. But thanks, really.
Next morning,
While Acheh was literally rockin', My family and I were geting ready to drive up to Melaka and stay there for a night before coming back for subang this morning. We convoyed with both my aunts and grand parents...Saw the news later that evening, and we had the shock of our lives. I had goosebumps...major goosebumps. That night, i was so paranoid, i even felt the ground was moving while i was sleeping..i wasn't dreaming, that i know. Yeah, i'm always paranoid.
Conclusion, it was pretty rockin' weekend...literally, man.
