Of Cajun salad, roaches, musangs and sissy screams.
20 more days before school re-opens, and i'm still enjoying the nothingness that's been going on. Familiar faces will be back into our daily lives, while some are taking off into a whole new beginning in a not-so-foreign land called Australia.
Goodbyes were said. For some of y'all, tears were shed.
As for our small group of friends, the dinner last night was ...um, interesting. Hahaha. As usual, the bottomless glass of coke or ice lemon tea made us cuckoo. Enough to laugh at un-funniest jokes.
As the most un-cool 20 year old, i still have a curfew to follow. Not because my dad doesn't think i can handle myself, but he doesn't think it's a good example for my 15 year old sister. Hoho. I totally understand, and respect that.
However.
I ran over the curfew time last night. Usually, the folks at home will be ringing me up by the time i'm not home by 11. And i was right. My sister rang me up asking what time i'm coming home. She usually doesn't give two hoots about what time i come back home, coz she enjoys the nagging i get from my parents. Evil, she is.
That was at 10.30 pm. At 11 pm, she called again!
Hahahaha, Hai, cik adik. Dah mula risau, ka?
Well, that was fine. I thought we'd leave just in time to get home by 11 on the dot, since it takes 15 mins to reach home... Oh but how could i have forgotten? I didn't budget the photo taking session. I said to myself...screw the curfew for 10 mins laaa. So we posed and posed and posed...
By the time we were done taking photos, our eyes were still blinded by the camera flash.
Then came the hugging session. Another 5 mins gone.
Then we had to run up the stairs to our cars because the place where we take the lift was closed. So Vanessa showed us the "scary alley" way to our cars. I couldn't run up the stairs because...one, i was so full and kembung after the dinner. Two, i haven't been running for a while. Three, the shoes tinggi la.
Anyway.
Got in the car, had to fill in fuel in Li's car. Fine. Gave Mei Tien my 50 ringgit note. I told her, pay 10 bucks.
While she went to the counter to pay for the fuel, Vanessa was having trouble trying to pump her car tires. She was a the same petrol station, thank god. So i hopped out of the car, and while catching my breath, i explained to her how to pump a bloody tire. When that was done with, she thanked me and i walked back to li's car.
Mei Tien came back to the car, giving me back my 40 ringgit change. But in 40 pieces of ONE bloody ringgit! She said the petrol man said "Wah, awak sudah kaya. Kaya dengan satu ringgit". Li and Mei tien laughed like there was no tomorrow, while i was cursing under my breath, saying "kaya kepala hotak kauuu la."
Then i filled in the fuel, got in the car, and Li sped off back to subang with Mei Tien sitting in the back seat.
It was then 11.20 pm. HAHAHA. I busted the curfew by 20 mins, and i was still far away from home!
By the time i got to the subang tol, Mei Tien HAD to scream, "LI there's a COCROACH in your car!!". Simultaneously, we all screamed like sissies. Omg. The drama. Then Mei Tien had the cheek to scream " THERE Li, it on the steering wheel!" If we had crashed into a ditch, we know who to kill.
That's fine, about 100 yards from where we were screaming about the roach, we came to a bend. And Li was making a left bend, out of nowhere, a musang like creature crossed our path while she was probably driving at 90 km perhour! It was lucky to not have been ran over. In other words, it made it to the other side. Dare devil Musang.
Oh yeah, we did scream like sissies again, when the musang crossed the road.
So in the end, Li managed to get me home by 11.30 pm. When i got back home, thankfully, mom and sister were in La La Land, while my dad wasn't home yet. I thank god, we didn't run into anything while Li was driving "like a maniac", as she would say it. What usually would be a normal outing for many, is an adventure for me. HAHAHA.
I truly enjoyed every part of it.
Except for my 40 pieces of one ringgit change.
