Hmm. The Irony...

Just a little after a year of my uncle's passing, an aunt's husband had joined the Deceased Uncles Club. Pardon the pun.

Is it a bad thing that we all see each other during Funerals in the Kampung?

Honestly, it's bittersweet for me. You see your aunts and cousins and uncles and nieces and nephews... but you're in no position to be too cheerful, because someone's lost their loved one(s). You kinda have to respect their space and emotions.

This time, the funeral didn't really seem like one. It could partly be because my family and i reached kampung late. By the time we reached, the body's been buried. But it didn't seem so much like a funeral because apart from my aunt, everyone else seemed so unaffected by my uncle's passing. Instead, they only worry for my aunt's wellbeing, while trying to cheer her up.

But i guess you can't really cheer up someone who've just buried her husband...even if they never seemed so compatible for each others' company. But still, they were married.

Noticed how i've used the word "seem" a lot? There's a lot of things that we're unsure off, and i worry that i judge the person or situation. So I guess "seemed" is the safest way of putting it.

I dunno.

I just think it's so ironic how we only meet with family members in a most awkward situations, instead of in a more light and cheerful environment. Or maybe it's just me and my anti social family...OH well.
