Yay. Most of our assignments are done. Just a few more to go.

I had things to say just now, but i forgot. Hmm. it was kinda interesting. Oh well.

Last friday, we won tug-o-war during masscolympics, and i think we won a hamper of nescafe goods... But i dunno where it went. I only took a can of nescafe drink. hmm. It was kinda fun... well boring at times, especially when we played football with the guys. "We" were Kaling , Alison and i. Haha. They put us as defender, but there was...nothing much to do. Even if there was, we couldn't do much to tackle the boys, 'cause they were fast. And the ball was fast! But i guess it was fun to run around aimlessly and not get the ball. Oh. Oh, wait. I did get the ball once. ahhaha.

Before i even got in the field to play footie, i already sprained my ankle. Jeez. And as i walked, i could feeel and heaaar the "krak krak" sound of my poor ankle. Thats not good, right? hehe.

Tug-o-war.... hmm. I think one of the factors that led to our victory was because some of us were a little meaty. So, all we needed to do was to simply lean back with the rope, and we got ourselves a great kickstart. From there, we sailed through the tugging war. haha. Let me show you how it was done...

I had a great laugh just looking at the facial expressions. My, what ugly expressions we had.

Well, here. Check this cartoon strip out.

One of my favourite cartoonist of all time is Lat. Yes, he's the local dude who actually got his Datukship. And i think he deserves it. He worked so hard for what he believes in. You know, he didn't start off as a cartoonist. Well, he did start with the dream of being like his mentor , Raja something...another cartoonist during the 60s.

What's interesting about his cartoons is that its so simple, yet leaves an aftertaste after looking at his cartoons. That aftertase actually gets you thinking about our lives, sometimes. And his cartoons are also very alive!

I remembered when i was in primary school, i once knew this girl who was actually Lat's daughter! haha. But now i dont even remember her name anymore. What a pity.

He draws his cartoons with nothing but a simple medium sized brush. And some black ink. No rough skethes, no nothing. He's also a musician. How do i know this? Well, believe it or not, i saw a documentary of him dne my the Discovery Channel but was aired on RTM 1. And i thought the documentary was awesome. It had a very deep message, believe in yourself, even if nothing seems to be working out.

He started out as a cartoonist, but was rejected by publishers a lot of times. They said his drawings weren't good enough. But then he ddn't give up... he worked at the NST as a reporter and was stationed at the hospital for the crime and courts coloumn. After a while, he didn't want to continue being a reporter. he didn't like being "nosy". It wasn't his nature to ask people who just met an accident questions that "may come out stupid". So he sent in a resignation letter, but his boss, Samad Ismail, said no.

Samad Ismail had a vision for Lat. He knew Lat would be a good cartoonist. But he believed that being a good cartoonist was just about sitting within four walls and drawing. It was about substance. It was about seeing what's around you.

So then, Lat continued being a reporter until one day he quit being one. He then was the NST's official cartoonist. NST couldn't afford to lose him to their competitors. So then he started drawing politicians' faces and making fun of them in a very tasteful way.

So thats why i adore Lat. I wonder if he comes up with new compilations of his cartoons.

Hopefully be doing my degree at someplace decent.

why do ihave to be sick now.

17. One time at a family gathering:
An aunt didn't think before she spoke.
