Eye opener.

My evening walk today with Fudge left me with this haunting thought. How do you react to a teenage guy, who's mentally a retard and gets excited when he sees another girl(s)?

I am not using the word "retard" to put down the person...but he is, literally mentally challenged. Some thing like syndrome down.

Anyway,
Fudge and i was approaching the padang asam, when this guy the retard boy was walking with his dad, screamed with excitement at the sight of us, fudge and i. I've always felt sad at the sight of these kind of unfortunate people. I did not know exactly how to react to that. Should i have smiled? wave? turn around? Or just laugh? I noticed that the dad's facial expression was of embarrasment. He didn't look our way, instead he walked fast, tugging the boy along while looking downwards towards worn out grass path. Still the boy kept screaming with excitement while looking our way.

I couldn't bear to look that way...The thought of how hard his parents had gone through to take care of him. I know, because i have a cousin who's like that. He's a little crippled. However, since his mom had took him and his siblings away from their dad(now in singapore) i haven't seen him in ages! He's my age. I told Fudge to turn around the other way...and so we walked back towards my house.

Fudge said, " omg, he could've been so cute"
I believe so.

But more important, is... I believe people like them are sent to earth as a test of how do we manage them. A test of patience. And its our responsibility.

Book Review

"Rosie Dunne" (U.S. Version)
"Where Rainbow Ends"(U.K. Version)

By Cecelia Ahern

The story of two best friends, Young Alex and Young Rosie takes place in Dublin. They were 5 when they became inseperapable. When they were 16 (or was it 17?) Alex's Family had to move to Boston, because his dad got a promotion there. Their lives then went in different ways there after, but they managed to stay in touch, through e-mails, mails, instant messaging, memos, even sms-es. In fact, the book is written through a complete collection of Rosie's letters, e-mails etc to and from her closest friends and family... during different phases of her life. The story of her journey through life...all in a "shoebox" full with letters, and e-mail and chatroom printouts. It gives the reader a sense of intimacy with the characters in this novel. Letters and other forms of interpersonal communications afterall, are considered private. Even after decades of living and leading different lives they still are best friends until they finally realised they have loved each other all their lives. Their destiny was to be together from the begining, afterall. But they were to afraid to give destiny a try...so then things got messy.

Cecelia had done a great job in arranging the different phasses of her life. Showing that things don't just go wrong without any great reason. How to appreciatte what life has to offer... in the long run. Cecelia's words of advise, flows via her older characters in the novel. It amazes me how this young author can write and present her ideas and make it sound so wise beyond her years.

She has also done a great job on the epilogue of the novel. Very detailed without sounding too slow and draggy, i find. She puts the mood really well into words, for example Old, Frail Rosie.

I am truly inspired by Cecelia.
At the age of 23, she's become an author of 2 novels and a few other short stories!
She was a media communication student, majored in Journalism.
I bet any mass communication student would be so proud and inspired of her after reading her writings.

I cried a few times in different parts of the novel. It was out of humour, and sadness.
It's a great book. I will never see an instant mesage the same way again.

Oh, Shut up.

Radio ads are so bloody annoying.
I can't stand Hitz.fm Urgh. Fucking annoying,
Everything about Hitz annoy me.
Deejays with Fake-accents-makes-me-sound-cool attitude, and i'm-so-chirpie-voice-that'll-make-you-barf, is simply unbearable.
not to mention the songs they play. satu hari beribu2 kali dgr lagu sama.
AAAAAAARGH!

I prefer Light and Easy, now.

No, i'm not old, and boring... i try to appreciate old songs. They're pretty cool. I feel happy listening to old, nostalgic, somewhat vintage songs. They mean so much more. Those were the days when people made music for the sake of music, and not popularity and getting the attention (then bitch about invasion of privacy). Oh, puh-lease. There are still people who make music sincerely...though you can hardly count with more than3 digits. (i think)

When one makes music with all their heart, you can just feel the emotion pouring inbetween the tunes, and words. Oh. How nice is that?

Anyway.
Getting sleepy...
I'll sing myself to sleep just like how dee said.

If Only All of us Were To be As lucky.

AHA! MOMENT
Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis She'd never met him, never heard of him, but she recognized the man in the rock magazine photo as her future husband.

One spring afternoon in 1984, I was sitting in my living room with my friend Debra Hill, the producer and co-writer of Halloween. I was 25 years old and feeling cautiously optimistic about life, having just broken off a relationship and purchased a beautiful apartment in Los Angeles. I felt I'd really voted for myself—chosen to take financial and personal risks to become fully independent.

Debra and I were flipping through a Rolling Stone magazine when I turned to a photograph of three men. I looked at the man on the right, wearing a plaid shirt and a waggish smirk. I'd never seen him before, but I pointed at him. "I'm going to marry that man," I said to my friend.

"That's Chris Guest," said Debra. "He's in a very funny new movie called This is Spinal Tap. I know his agent." The next day I called the agent, gave him my number, and told him to have Chris call me if he was interested. I waited. Chris never called.

I went on with my life. I began dating a sweet man, but we both knew it wasn't for good. When he had to leave for an extended business trip, I dropped him off at the airport to say a friendly but final goodbye. From the airport, I drove straight to Hugo's restaurant in West Hollywood to have dinner with friends.

As I sat down at Hugo's, I glanced up and found myself staring straight at Chris, three tables away. He waved to me as if to say, "I'm the guy you called." I waved back: "I'm the woman who called you." A few minutes later, he got up to leave. Standing 20 feet away, he shrugged his shoulders and put up his hand as if to say, "I'll see ya." As he left, I looked down at my plate.

The next day, on June 28, the phone rang. On July 2, Chris and I had our first date at Chianti Ristorante on Melrose. And by August 8, when he left to tape a year of Saturday Night Live in New York City, we'd fallen in love.

One day in September, we were talking on the phone. "I went for a walk along Fifth Avenue today," he said.

"What'd you do there?" I said.

"Do you like diamonds?" he asked. We were married on December 18. This winter will be our 20th anniversary.

Chris and I have a wonderful, complicated, imperfect life. And a very real marriage. I'll never know why I thought we'd understand each other when I saw his photograph. Hidden in that smirk, I think, was a little secret that only I knew.

Jamie Lee Curtis stars in Christmas with the Kranks, in theaters November 24th.

Learn To Fly.

When I was younger...

I dreamt of being a pilot. Or anything that had to do with aviation.
(err. except for being the air hostess...or cabin cleaner.. hehe)

After a few years of finally being somewhat involved with flying activities...like fly-ins, and air-carnivals around the country, my "passion" somehow...died.

I believed i had the talent to fly...I learnt quite quickly. But yeah. i never follow through. What a waste. I regret not doing so...i know i can still start again. But my dad lost trust of my "passion" of wanting to fly.

Today, i sorta helped out the guys down at the Flying Club in Subang Airport conduct their "Air-ducation"...As in, Air education..get it? Haha, cheesy name, i know. But it was pretty fun. Their target groups were youths between 12 to 17 years of age. All 6 participants were boys. Except for my sister yang saje menyebok. Oh...and me. ;P They get like, a prep course and all the 411(info) about learning to fly, and how to prepare yourself to start flying...and to yes, motivate youths to start flying! Seriously..they should start young.

I could see the enthusiasm in the boys' eyes. It gave me the chills. These boys were smart, inquisitive...and adorable! They asked smart questions(smart sprouts,eh?), and most people were pretty impressed. Even me. A 12 year old talking about the bearings of the runway. When i was 12, i used small, simple words...And i still do.I was the camerawoman for the day. Not a very good one, too. My video camera ran out of battery...and its wasn't even half way through the event. Aiyo. Pochi lah. But thank god, my trusty phone was there to rescue the day.

As i sat there in the hangar, waiting for Niner Mike Echo Alpha Tango to land and pick up another sprout up for the 20 minutes circuit, Uncle Fadhil was rivetting the cowling of the other plane with the tunes of Spice Girls' "Wannabe" in the background. I thought that was a really priceless moment. For me, at least.

Each sprout's trial flight ended with a hugs smile across their faces. I couldn't help but smile just as wide. Next was lunch. McDonald's for everyone!

It sure didn't end there.
Next was to the Air Trafic Control's tower. After 12 flights of floors, we came to the other stair well to go up to the control room. The view was amazing... You could see out for a few miles on a good day. Opposite the road of the Terminal three of Subang Airport, there was the Air control center. This is where the controling and coordinating of aircrafts all over the peninsular malaysia takes place. My aunt's brother in law was the head of the department. So we had the luxury to take a tour of the place. It intrigued most of the boys...The fact there are probably thousands of aircrafts going in, out, and around of the peninsular malaysia is mind boggling.

The whole Air-ducation ended at 4pm in Terminal three...
One by one, parents come and picked the boys up...walking away with certificates of their own for attending the activity. Their faces gleamed with excitement. Even after the whole thing was over. As they saw their parents, their couldn't wait to tell the story of their fresh new adventure.

I couldn't help but feel proud for the boys.
They were brave enough to come alone without other guardians...
Because they were really interested.
I hope the activity have helped them in every way to motivate and encourage the boys to fly in the near future...
And not let their passion die, like how i killed mine.

You ain't nothin but a hound dog...la la la laaaaaa

Oh man!
If any of you had notice, elvis had multiple musical orgasm while he performed during the 1968 comeback concert. Whoooo. Hot. He was hot. I mean, really. His energetic performances just gives me the chills up my spine. Electrifying.

Well...When popularity gets the best of you...Most famous people die young.
Marilyn Monroe
James Dean
Elvis
John. F. Kennedy

Oh, and who's that guy who sang "La Bamba"? He died in a plane crash too.
And the famous golfer...i forgot his name.

Tragic.

And, No. I am not wierd because i think a dead guy was hot, okay?

The One With Red Hair.

Last few days have been pretty quiet. Very routined.

A Walk down Raja Chulan.

Yeah.
That was what my mom, sister and i did tonight. Dad had a Dinner to attend to, so we tagged along up to the Istana hotel on Jalan Raja Chulan. Took the monorail to Times square on Jalan Imbi. I know some roads of kl now. haha. Mom thought it was a real adventure to walk around kl, at night without dad along...The man of the house. Cute. Really cute. Really...no sarcasm here.

Driving in K.L is madness la.
Roads there are like, blocked arteries. Its bad...Its hazardous.

The K.L skyline, however is quite intriguing. At least, i find it intriguing.
From afar, tall buildings rise out of nowhere in the darkness.
From the tin mining center...to a city center. But yeah...
We are still decades behind leading countries.
I'm not just talking bout our infrastructure...
Frame of minds, ethics, attitudes.
We all know this. Yet,
Here we are....

Old habits die hard, i guess. Though i believe we can change.
Singapore did it, why can't we? "a small country"
Shouldn't be the issue here.
Australia is huge.
But they're consistent with their systems.

If given a chance, i wouldn't wanna live in K.L.
Too hectic, loud, crazy for me to handle.
Even Subang Jaya is getting out of hand.
Driving sucks nowadays.

Especially when i'm still not fully recovered from the trauma of being hit by another car.
Slowly, i will.
